D1 : Imerinkasinina - Ankadimanga
Leave Antananarivo for Ankadimanga (45 km east of Antananarivo).
Tour around the village and traditional lunch on the shore
of Ramiangaly lake. Walk to the forestry station of Angavokely,
which is home to endemic orchids and other rare species.
Return via the Nationale 2 highway and continue to Imerinkasinina,
15km from Antananarivo. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.
D2 :
Imerinkasinina - Mahabo
A tour of Imerinkasinina village before taking the Nationale
4 highway. Stop in Ambohimanambola to visit a wrought
iron workshop. Arrival in Mahabo, tour of the small village
of Andranovelona followed by a typical local lunch. Short
hike to the first site used by the Malagasy Institute
of Applied Research for its medicinal plants. Return to
Mahabo, stopping en route for a panoramic view over the
surrounding villages. Departure for the village of Tsarafara,
dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse.
D3
: Mahabo - Antananarivo
Morning departure for the site of Milasoa. Climb up Lohavohitra
hill to explore the archaeological site at its summit,
where objects dating from the 15th century are preserved.
Descend the other side of the hill to reach the site of
Antanetimonina. Lunch and time to relax before heading
back to Antananarivo.

D1 : Antananarivo - Ankadimanga
- Imerinkasinina
Morning departure towards Mandraka via the Nationale
2 highway. Stop in Mandraka to visit the Peyreiras butterfly
farm. Return to Ankadimanga. Tour of the village, chosen
by the great king Andrianampoinimerina for his twelfth
wife, Ramiangaly. Traditional lunch on the shores of
the magnificent lake, which is named after this queen.
Mid-afternoon departure for Imerinkasinina on the Antananarivo
road. Dinner and overnight stay in a guest house..
D2
: Imerinkasinina - Ambohimanga
After breakfast, tour of the village of Imerinkasinina
and its numerous historic remains. Departure for Ambohimanga,
a sacred hill classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Lunch. Tour of the site: the royal summer palace and its
relics. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse.
D3
: Ambohimanga - Antananarivo
Morning departure on the Lazaina road to reach Merimandroso:
stunning panoramic view over Antananarivo and the surrounding
hills. Stop in Ambatoharanana to visit the first Anglican
church and its theological school museum. Arrival in Merimandroso
and visit to the local village of Mangarano. Traditional
lunch. Walk to the sacred site of Ambohimasina. Return
to Merimandroso and head towards Ivato to visit the Croc
Farm. Return to Antananarivo in the late afternoon. Dinner
and overnight stay in a guesthouse.
D4
: Antananarivo – Mahabo
Departure towards Mahabo on the Nationale 4 highway. Continue
towards Milasoa and climb Lohavohitra hill to explore
the archaeological site there. Descend the other side
of the hill. Lunch and afternoon to relax on the site
of Antanetimonina. Dinner and overnight stay.
D5
: Mahabo - Antananarivo
After breakfast, visit to the small local village of Andranovelona.
where you can learn about silkworm farming. Short hike
to the first site used by the Malagasy Institute of Applied
Research for its medicinal plants. Return to Antananarivo.
